Newly arrived into AMFW, we have a selection of wines from one of Burgundy's finest, Henri Boillot.

Henri Boillot is at the epicentre of great wine-making in Burgundy and is one of the region's most respected winemakers. Based in Meursault, Henri makes some of the Côte de Beaune’s finest wines at his historic domaine which dates back to 1885 when Henri Boillot’s grandfather founded the estate.

Named as a "star winemaker" by Vinous' Stephen Tanzer, Henri owns around 15 hectares of vineyards, including the exceptional monopole Premier Cru Clos de la Mouchère in Puligny-Montrachet. He also operates as an extremely quality-focused négociant. Henri's wines include several Premier Crus from Meursault,  Puligny Montrachet, les Mouchères, Chassagne-Montrachet, Volnay and Savigny-les-Beaune, with only the best of the best selected in tiny quantities from each appellation.
The Domaine vineyards are farmed organically, and the vines grown to produce low yields of high-quality grapes. While using quite a lot of new oak, the house style here is one for chiselled and precise Chardonnays. The reds receive a light touch in the winery and are full of intensity of fruit. Henri Boillot is one of the few Burgundy producers that excels both in whites and reds, with incredibly high standards across the range.

We are delighted to present the following, all of which are in stock, and immediately available for delivery:
As you can see from the above, quantities are extremely limited, so do let me know if you would like to order, and I can confirm, subject to remaining stocks.
Henri Boillot Bourgogne Blanc 2020
A smoky mix of apple, pear and citrus leads to solidly voluminous and intense middle weight flavors that conclude in an appealingly crisp, clean and very dry finale. This is a very good Bourgogne that should also be capable of repaying a few years of keeping if desired.

Domaine Henri Boillot Meursault 2020
Notes of smoked hazelnut, poached pear and pretty acacia blossom scents introduce sleek, intense and beautifully delineated medium-bodied flavors that coat the palate on the clean, focused, balanced and beautifully long finale. This could use a bit more depth but overall, this is a first-rate Meursault villages.

Domaine Henri Boillot Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos de la Mouchere 2020
This is perhaps the most floral-suffused nose in the range with its aromas of essence of pear and plenitude of spice and citrus elements. Once again, the mid-palate mouthfeel of the medium-bodied flavors is absolutely gorgeous, which contrasts noticeably with the cuts-like-a-knife finish that remains ultra-refined, balanced and persistent. This is most impressive, particularly for the remarkably fine volume and power that is delivered with grace and class.

Domaine Henri Boillot Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrieres 2020
Here too there is a subtle dollop of wood framing the aromas of various white orchard fruit, fennel and citrus zest. The pure and transparent medium weight flavors brim with minerality on the impressively long, very dry and youthfully austere finale. This is also very compact and at least a few years of bottle aging should be highly beneficial.

Henri Boillot Bourgogne Blanc 2021
Fresh and bright aromas consist of petrol, lemon zest and green apple scents. The racy, detailed and attractively textured middleweight flavors possess very good mid-palate volume while delivering better than average depth and persistence on the bone-dry finale. This is lovely for its level and worth a look.

Domaine Henri Boillot Puligny-Montrachet 2021
Moderate reduction is enough to push the underlying fruit to the background. By contrast, there is excellent freshness and intensity to the solidly concentrated medium weight flavors that coat the palate with dry extract while delivering impressive length on the balanced, youthfully austere and citrus-tinged finale. This is a really good Puligny villages and even though it's more powerful than usual, it remains stylish and refined. One to buy plus it should age gracefully.

Domaine Henri Boillot Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Pucelles 2021
Here too there is a touch of reduction though it's light enough such that notes of honeysuckle and lemon-lime can be discerned. The texture of the medium-bodied flavors is again wonderfully refined while keeping the same impressive punch while displaying excellent cut on the bone-dry, youthfully austere and sneaky long finale. This is quite simply a gorgeous Pucelles and highly recommended.

Henri Boillot Corton-Charlemagne 2021
This is also aromatically cool and decidedly restrained with its array of green apple, mineral reduction, citrus zest and a vaguely Chablis-like hint of oyster shell and iodine. The beautifully textured broad-shouldered flavors flash both focused power and an abundance of minerality on the tension-filled, bone-dry and balanced finale. This is also a strikingly pretty wine that is very much built to reward extended keeping.

Domaine Henri Boillot Latricieres-Chambertin 2021
Here there is enough reduction present to push the underlying fruit to the background so be sure to give this some air if your curiosity gets the better of you! By contrast, there is outstanding freshness and tension to the borderline aggressively mineral-inflected medium weight flavors that possess a more sophisticated, and certainly finer, texture while displaying very fine length on the moderately austere, compact and firm finale. This is a bit less harmonious than the Echézeaux but I suspect that it's just a phase that will progressively pass.
